Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, and the surrounding landscape. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food in her early years. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact on her culinary point of view. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing difficulties. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to communicate with people what is most important to her.
